Our coaching philosophy is to help these young girls develop a love for the game of hockey by growing their physical and mental skills and helping them learn the values of team-play, hard work, resilience and having a positive attitude.

At U11, Hockey Canada recommends a shift from U9 practice planning, where the recommendation is that 75% of practice time is devoted to individual skill development. At U11, individual skill development is still the highest priority (50% of practice time), while the other 50% of practice time will be devoted to individual and team tactics and strategy. We will follow these recommendations while trying to have as much FUN as possible.

On the ice, our top priority is to help your daughter develop her individual skills, but also to help her develop grit, competitiveness and knowledge of the game. Our team will only become successful if we play more aggressively and compete harder than the other teams in the league, so we will be pushing your daughter to do that. Although the lines will be rotated equally for the majority of the games, important situations and extra ice will be awarded to the girls who compete the hardest.
