Thank you to all of the girls that came out to skate tonight. We were very impressed with how hard they all worked. They truly
exemplified the level of effort we described during our pre-tryout talk. We look forward to welcoming back all of the girls to our two remaining tryouts on the following dates:

Wednesday, April 23rd at 5:45pm (Magna - Honda)

 Coaching Philosophy

Thank you for your interest in Central York Panthers Hockey. As we approach tryouts, I thought it would be helpful to briefly share the coaching philosophy for the upcoming season:

Mission:
Develop confident, passionate players who love hockey, embrace teamwork, and grow through hard work.

Core Goals:

  •  Love the Game: Ignite a lifelong passion for hockey.

  • Team First: Build a supportive family where every player belongs.

  • Growth Mindset: Teach resilience and pride through effort and challenge.

On-Ice Focus:

  • Skating: The most critical area of focus for developing players. Every practice will have a skating component.

  • Puck Skills: Puck control and confidence with the puck make the game of hockey more fun. We will emphasize throughout the season the importance of controlling the puck and challenge our players to make good decisions, be creative and get out of their comfort zone.

  • Shooting: The majority of our drills will involve a shooting aspect to ensure the maximum amount of reps for both our players and goalies.

  • Passing and Team Play: As the season progresses, we will incorporate passing and some team play fundamentals into our practices.

How We Train:

  • Gameplay Every Practice: Reinforce skills in dynamic, competitive scenarios.

  • Confidence with the Puck: Empower players to make bold, creative decisions.

Non-Negotiable:

FUN and HARD WORK drives everything we do. Practices will be approached with high sense of urgency to ensure that every minute we are on the ice is maximized giving our players the best chance to develop.

Our Promise:
We will foster a team that works hard, supports each other, and has fun everyday we are together both on and off the ice.
