Bio
Jeff is a graduate of Newmarket Minor Hockey, York Simcoe Express and the Newmarket 87’s Jr. A Tier II organizations.
He was drafted in the first round of the OHL Draft by the Guelph Storm (5th Overall). During his time with the Storm, he participated in a Memorial Cup Final and was awarded the William Hanley Trophy as the OHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player.
He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils and played 6 of his 9+ professional seasons in the AHL, where he earned the Willy Marshall Award as the AHL’s Leading scorer. He also spent time in the IHL, ECHL, UHL, The Swedish Hockey League, The Finnish Elite League & Italy.
Jeff has been coached by some of hockey’s great minds including; Craig Hartsburg, E.J. McGuire, Robbie Ftorek, John Cunniff, Red Gendron, Peter Horachek, Kurt Kleinendorst, Wes Jarvis & Brian Perrin. Since then Jeff has earned D1 (Certified) coach designation and is going into his 15th season of coaching.
His diverse experience includes coaching girls and boys from A to AAA skill levels that span from Novice through U16. Jeff is also HCCP (level 1) trainer certified.
Jeff believes in establishing a safe learning environment for the players, in being prepared with age and skill appropriate content, and that a coach is the ambassador of fun - this great game should be fun!
Away from the rink, Jeff is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Champion Moyer Diebel Canada (ALI Group). He resides in East Gwillimbury with his wife Rebecca, and his kids Caleb (16), Hayden (13) and Jessica (12).
