to CYP U18 A/BB 2023 to 2024 Program
Welcome all athletes
to the U18 A/BB season. This program is developed as per the guidelines of Hockey
Canada U18 hockey development. Goals for
the U18 age division are:
• Fun •
Refining team play and strategy. The
U18 program recommends the following practice time allotment:
• 35% technical skills • 15% individual tactics • 20% team tactics • 15% team play • 10% strategy
To ensure clear communication on the
season here is a breakdown for the season.
Practice
& Games:
*CYP will issue two practices per week.
Duration will be from 1 to 1.5 hrs.
*Our team will pick up 1 x additional
practice, typically this will be in conjunction with 1 hr of dryland training
at BST https://bloodsweattrain.ca/
*Games will be scheduled as per our division
set by OWHA (i.e. 23 games 22/23 season)
*Players are expected to attend all
practices and games
Dates / Tournaments:
* TEAM KICKOFF Meeting Thursday, May
4, 2023 @ 6 to 8pm - Aurora
*U18 A/BB will budget for four
tournaments. Tentative but not confirmed:
1. September 2023 – Stoufville, ON
2 November 2023 – NY or CT USA
3. January 2024 – Sarnia, ON
(SILVERSTICK)
4. March 2024 0 GTA, ON
(Optional for Brampton, April 2024,
Team votes plus based on season performance)
*U18 A/BB Pre-Season Camp will be
hosted from 5-9pm August 29,30,31 at BST, Newmarket and BLC, Bradford
for preseason player evaluations. Attendance is mandatory!
Budget / Sponsorships:
*Upon accepting U18 Player Agreement,
a deposit is requested immediately for $800. Total Budget is $4,000 per player
or 5 payments of $800 (May, August, October, November, January)
*Budget template will be shared at first
team meeting (May 2023)
*Players are responsible for room
charges and meals at all tournaments
*Sponsorships will commence May 30,
2023. A separate Package will be communicated to the rostered team and parents.
