The Central York Panthers are thrilled to
announce that our very own 2022-23 Jr Panther’s Hannah Clarke and Abby Lunney
have won Bronze Medals at the Canada Winter Games! Hannah and Abby were a part
of the Team Ontario women’s hockey team that defeated Team Quebec in the Bronze
Medal game in Prince Edward Island this past Sunday.
Hannah and Abby have helped show our Panther community what great opportunities can lie ahead for our younger Panthers if they have a dream and put everything they have into it. Both Panthers played a prominent role in helping Team Ontario to go undefeated until a heartbreaking loss in the semi-final to Team Nova Scotia. However, they bounced right back after a short turnaround and were able to bring home the Bronze Medal the very next morning in a convincing 3-1 win over Team Quebec. Both players showed their tremendous abilities throughout the week-long competition with key plays both offensively and defensively at critical moments. Both players were proud to represent the Panther organization on this national stage. They both had an amazing time and it meant even more because they were there together as Panther teammates. Congratulations Hannah and Abby, we are so proud of both of you!
