CONGRATULATIONS TO KAITLIN TEIXEIRA - Commitment to York University
Submitted By S Dempsey on Fri 03 03, 23
The Central York Girls Hockey Association are thrilled to announce that their 2022/23 Jr Panther Kaitlin Teixeira has committed to play USports OUA Women’s Hockey for York University for the 2023/24 season.

Kaitlin has been a great addition to the Central York Panthers U22AA program this season and has jumped right in with both feet. Kaitlin has helped to keep the Central York Jr Panthers right at the top of the league. Kaitlin is a force every time she steps on the ice. Kaitlin brings speed and a physical element to the game that has really helped the Jr Panthers this year. Her speed and ability to create offense on every shift was a big factor for university coaches and scouts. Kaitlin combines her physical style with a drive and determination on the ice that makes her very hard to contain.

“It’s been a dream of mine to play hockey at the University level and I can’t thank the Panthers organization enough for helping me to get there. I am honored and excited to announce my commitment to play for the York University Lions. I am grateful for everyone who supported me throughout the years. Thank you to my family, teachers, friends, and coaches. Go Lion Pride!” exclaimed Kaitlin Teixeira.

Dan Church, Head Coach of the York University Lions has been watching Kaitlin’s progress over the past few seasons and was very excited about the signing. “We are thrilled to have Kaitlin Teixeira join the York Lions next season! Not only is she a skilled and creative offensive player, but she is also a great student and outstanding individual. With a background of success playing at the OWHL U22 level and having played for great coaches and programs, including her experience with the Central York Jr Panthers, I am confident she is going to make an immediate impact on our program”, proclaimed Coach Church.

Central York’s U22AA(Jr) Head Coach Steve Dempsey is very excited about this commitment. “Kaitlin has really helped our program stay near the top in many offensive categories. Kaitlin is a skilled player that also has tremendous speed. That combination was exactly what we were looking for. We are looking forward to seeing Kaitlin excel at the next level. There is no doubt that Kaitlin is a great player but it is her ability to really turn up the intensity late in a game that will be missed the most. Dan Church and the York Lions really have a key cornerstone piece here. Some players play better when the heat is turned up and Kaitlin is one of those players. I am really happy for both of them with this signing”, exclaimed Steve Dempsey.

Kaitlin will be starting her next chapter in her life at York University in the fall of 2023. Congratulations Kaitlin!!
