This past summer Hailey was one of a handful of 2006 born players to be invited to the prestigious OWHA U18 High Performance Selection Camp. As an underager for this event Hailey proved herself more than worthy of the selection as she was an impact throughout the camp and impressed her coaches with her combination of speed, skill, hockey IQ, and a high compete level.

“Choosing the Central York Panthers was the best decision and I knew it right away as it felt like home instantly. It is important for me to be challenged both on and off the ice. Throughout my time here I believe I have grown as a player and as a person. My coaches have created an enjoyable environment for me to learn, grow, and hone my hockey skills. I truly love coming to the rink, training, and sharing these experiences with my amazing teammates. Coach Steve’s knowledge of the game, experience in coaching, and passion for the female game has allowed me the opportunity to push my skills to a new level. Our Panther culture has brought me to a better understanding of purpose, accountability, and trust. This legacy will be with me as I carry on throughout my journey with Central York and at the next level”, announced Hailey Maguire.

Known as a highly skilled, passionate player who plays with a competitive edge that helps to separate her from her peers. Hailey is counted on to play against the top units from the other teams in the OWHL U22 Elite League night in and night out. She anchors a strong defensive unit and adds to the team offense with her quickness and decisions along the offensive blueline. Her leadership traits have helped to create a very inclusive and supportive team culture in the Panther dressing room.

The Dartmouth College coaching staff has been watching Hailey’s progress over the past year and they are thrilled that she is joining the “Big Green" program.

Central York’s  Junior Head Coach Steve Dempsey is ecstatic about this signing. “Hailey has proven herself to be one of my best signings for the Central York program. I knew that our program would be a great fit for Hailey but she has more than exceeded our expectations. Hailey is an elite player but more importantly she demonstrates what being a Panther is all about. Hailey is always positive, supportive and highly inclusive of her teammates. She leads by example through her relentless work ethic in support of her team’s mission. We’re so proud that our high performance program could help play an important part in helping Hailey reach this long term goal. Dartmouth College is very lucky to have Hailey and we are looking forward to seeing her excel in the NCAA”.

Hailey is scheduled to start the 2024-25 season at Dartmouth College in September 2024.
