CONGRATULATIONS ZOE FRANTZ - Commitment to McGill University!
The Central York Panthers would like to congratulate our  2021-22 Jr Panther Zoe Frantz on her recent accomplishment of making the women’s hockey team for the prestigious program at McGill University. Zoe has always wanted to play University hockey and she attended the McGill tryouts last week and has made the roster for the 2022-23 season. Zoe is a great example to all Panthers that if you work hard enough you can realize your dreams. We are so proud of you Zoe!

(September 22, 2022 Aurora, Ontario) – The Central York Girls Hockey Association are pleased to announce that their 2021/22 Jr Panther Zoe Frantz has recently been selected to play for the women’s hockey program at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec for the 2022-23 season.

Zoe was always on a mission from day one of becoming a Panther. Zoe came to the Panthers as a result of working extremely hard and proving to the Jr Panther coaches that she would never ease up in her pursuit to become the best player possible. Zoe is a great example that the pathway to success is not a straight line. Zoe had some ups and downs while she was a Panther but even a pandemic could not derail her. She bounced back several times over the past few years and really hit her stride towards the end of last season. Zoe is an outstanding ambassador for our team. She takes pride in being a very inclusive and welcoming person to anyone that steps into our Jr dressing room. Zoe has left a footprint on our program and we are so very proud of her. Zoe bet on herself and she has won the lottery with this recent signing!

“I have this quote that really encapsulated my time with Central York, “I will either find a way or I will make a way”. I really like this quote because I feel like in hockey and in life we are often told that the pathway to success is very linear. However, what the Panthers organization and our Jr team taught me was that this is never the case, and if you are disciplined and put the time and effort in, you can achieve anything you want. Further, just because your path isn’t the one most travelled doesn’t mean it isn’t an AMAZING journey”, commented Zoe Frantz.

Central York’s Jr Coach Steve Dempsey is ecstatic about this announcement. “Zoe has been working so hard towards this goal and even though there were some skeptics along the way she has proven them all wrong. Zoe really took in everything our coaches were telling her and she made the changes that she needed to and now she is living out her dream of playing for one of the top programs in the entire country.  Zoe is also a winner in the classroom, and will be a perfect fit for McGill. I’m so happy for her and for McGill.”

Zoe will be starting her season with McGill next week.
