Panther, ABBY LUNNEY - Team Canada U18
Submitted By Patty Albert on Mon 08 15, 22
The Central York Panthers are ecstatic to announce that our very own 2022-23 Jr Panther Abby Lunney has just been selected to the Team Canada U18 team!! Following an 11-day selection camp, 23 players have been named to Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team for a three-game series against the United States, Aug. 17-20 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

Abby has been a Panther from Fundamentals all the way to her current position with the Jr Panthers. Abby is the first player to have that unique distinction. The Panthers have had several players make the Team Canada U18, U22, or National Team but none have been lifelong Panthers from start to finish. Abby has always stated that being a Panther is all she has ever wanted. Abby is a shining example for our young Panthers. Abby has combined her passion for the Panthers with her commitment to the community all while achieving her dreams of playing for Team Canada. We are so proud Abby!!
