Bio
Tom has been coaching in the CYGHA for the past 10 years and has extensive and varied coaching experience in House League, DS and Rep, at the Novice, Atom and Peewee levels. His most recent role is Head Coach of the U11 BB Team.
Tom started playing hockey at a young age and developed a life-long passion for the game. Tom has also been a soccer coach for the past 7 years with the Aurora Youth Soccer Club.
His coaching philosophy is to create a fun and positive environment, while ensuring players are developing their hockey skill-set, knowledge of the game and working as a team. It is important that each player understands how a team works and that everyone has a role to make the team successful.
Tom will not only focus on developing technical skills, but will also emphasize the importance of players showing respect to their fellow teammates, staff, referees and opponents, as a positive attitude and coachability are important elements of a well-rounded hockey player.
Tom will implement a comprehensive plan to develop players both individually and collectively as a team, while ensuring players feel valued and included as team members.
Tom looks forward to coaching the U13 BB team in the 2021/22 season!
