Kristen Mrozewski Commitment to Laurentian!
The Central York Panthers would like to congratulate our 2020-21 Jr Panther Kristen Mrozewski on her commitment to USports Laurentian University Voyageurs in Sudbury Ontario. Kristen has always wanted to play for her hometown university team.

For Immediate Release (February 5, 2021 Aurora, Ontario) –

The Central York Girls Hockey Association are pleased to announce that their 2020/21 Jr Panther Kristen Mrozewski has committed to play USports OUA Women’s Hockey for the Laurentian Voyageurs in Sudbury Ontario for the 2021-22 season.

Kristen has been a positive difference maker right from the first time that her new team met her. Her smile and positive energy have made her an irreplaceable piece to our 2020-21 team. Kristen is an outstanding ambassador for our team. She combines an tenacious work ethic with an inclusive mindset that has made her a favorite with all of her teammates.

She is truly an elite high performance athlete that has outscored most elite PWHL goaltenders in several categories. “It's been a dream of mine to play hockey at the university level and I can’t thank the Panthers organization enough in helping me get there. The coaches and my teammates have helped me grow as a hockey player, and also as a person. They have helped to prepare me for this next chapter in my life and I am so excited to join the Laurentian Voyageurs next season” commented Kristen Mrozewski. Known as a highly intelligent, athletic goaltender, Kristen has been a leader between the pipes for the 2020-21 team and has shut down some highly offensive teams in a limited season so far. No goalie competes harder than Kristen and it has shown up when she goes up against some of the best PWHL offensive players. She uses all of her abilities and competes for every puck and every rebound.

Kristen helps her team play their best game in and game out knowing that she is behind them. “We have been watching Kristen’s progress over the past few years and we are thrilled that she is joining our program. Her athleticism and work ethic will be a great compliment to the team we’ve built here” said Laurentian Voyageurs Head Coach Stacey Colarossi.

Central York’s Jr Coach Steve Dempsey is ecstatic about this announcement. “Kristen has been working so hard towards this goal and even though there were some skeptics along the way she has proven them all wrong. Kristen is the complete package. She is a winner in the classroom, in the gym, on the ice, and in the dressing room with her teammates. My only regret is that we didn’t have her in the Panther organization a lot sooner. Kristen is one of the hardest working and most unselfish players who quietly makes everyone around her better. I’m so happy for her and for Laurentian.”

Kristen is scheduled to start the 2021/22 season at Laurentian University this fall.
