The Golden Griffins Lake Simcoe Classic started by avenging a 4-2 loss, to a Sudbury team that got the best of us in the Panther Pride tournament, with a 3-1 win. In the next game a late goal against had a 4-4 tie feeling like a loss in the dressing room on Friday night.
Saturday was a different story. The girls came out and won the first game 5-1. Then, after an early goal against in the semi-final, the team showed their perseverance and scored 4 unanswered to pick up the 4-1 win.
The Griffins once again met the team from Sudbury in the Final on Sunday. The team played one of their best all around games of the season on their way to a 3-0 victory in the Championship Game.
This tournament win is testament to the team’s dedication to skating hard and working hard, as well as their continued drive to get better and persevere. The bench staff could not be more proud of these girls and their much deserved Championship.
